On Thursday, November 21, 2019, Western Foodies hosted its first-ever Charity Bar Night at the Barking Frog in London.
In total, from wristband sales and donations, our club raised $70 for the Sunshine Foundation. The Sunshine Foundation is a charity that raises money to fulfill custom dreams for children with life-threatening illnesses or severe physical disabilities.
After a quick pre, our members and friends headed to Frog’s to dance the night away. Frog’s was packed with Western students, as the Chinese Students Association (CSA) social was also happening, along with all the others who wanted to get down on a Thursday night.
A highlight of the night was definitely the free Dominoes Pizza that was brought into the club periodically, providing a welcome break from the dance floor and revitalizing members before we went back for more.
Although it was a different sort of event compared to our other ones, members still had a blast dancing and getting to know people, all for a good cause.
